    Alpha comp is a Mastering Compressor.  The Hardware unit
    sells for $10,000.  Not that it can't be used elsewhere, but
    it's design was for Mastering.  It's supposed to be really nice
    but I've never used it.

    Vertigo I don't know anything about...
