Plugin choice and cpu usage...

has anyone done a side by side comparison to see if using just sonar pro-channel or stock plugins in a mixing template uses less cpu?
I use a lot of different plugins. sonar,sonitus,waves,fab filter,slate, free. mostly vst3. win 7 sp1 64 bit , 16 gig,sonar x3e- not much on the c drive. save to external drives.
very happy with my setup. usually have around 25 recorded tracks with around 30 Bus tracks (template) that i mix into.
so my question is does a computer use less cpu if you use just the stock sonar plugins-direct x?

Doesn't seem to matter to me. i get about the same basic results with cpu usage. weather i am trying to use just vst 2 or just vst 3 or just direct x , it seems - a plug in used is a plug in used. Weather it's a compressor on the pro channel or a compressor in the fx bin. a compressor from sonitus, or a compressor from waves.
from my experience it seems that you can just about count up your plug ins and know about how close you are to a "sonar is shutting down" error message.
would love to hear from some of you fellow sonar die-hard users about  plug-in types and cpu usage.
thanks,
mike
