Pointer behavior

Awhile back some how I changed it so when i pasted a file it went to the now time.  It used to default to the location of the pointer.  How do I go back to the pointer setting I really liked that more...  Thanks for any help.

    looked all through preferences can not find option

    Perhaps you were using Aim Assist.  To activate it go into your Track View menus:  View - Display and turn on Aim Assist.
