Polished internal metronome sounds (Download link included)

I edited 15 internal metronome audio samples a little bit; applied careful hipass filter, removed slow attack or pure silence from many of the sounds. I also removed DC offset and improved fade outs.  Some of the files had up to 3 milliseconds silence or weak attack before the actual hit which may lead you to play out of time even if you play accurately.
Changes are subtle and you may not hear any difference if not doing A/B tests.

Does anyone know if the Sonar installer will overwrite these files every time? If it does you might want to keep the archive near by so you can reinstall them after every monthly update.

They are better than the stock ones, thanks for making them available.

We're gonna find that out pretty soon. I zipped original Metronome folder before replacing the sounds and put Panu's archive in the same folder, so I can easily restore original or polished sounds if need be.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. Will try 'em tonight.

Even if updates do not reset the metronome folder, it would be a good idea to retain a copy. Should you ever need to  perform fully re-personalize SONAR, the files will get overwritten at that time.

Definite improvement...thanks for sharing! Mudgel/Panup, what about including these in the ultra-useful "Utilities for Use with SONAR" thread?

Re: Polished internal metronome sounds (Download link included) 2015/11/15 11:43:10 (permalink)
Finally got around to loading these. I only ever use Ping Hi and Ping Low, which are not among the modified ones (and are pretty clean as-is), so I guess I won't actually be partaking of the new samples.

Out of curiosity, though, I loaded up old and new Beep samples, and found the new one has its first sample way up at the -27dB level which makes for an audibly distorted attack, though it's largely masked by the high amplitude peak of the "body" of the sample. I haven't looked at the others, but can't say I would consider this one an improvement from a purely technical standpoint.

Here's two Cubase metronome click's i did optimize, for those who want it as metronome sound

( be sure to show hidden folders )

The path for the working metronome in sonar is :

1.  C:\users\"yourname"\appdata\roaming\cakewalk\SONAR Platinum\metronome

Enjoy....

That's the correct one in my case, even there's at least 1 more path to metronome sounds
but it don't work....

The other " Not working " path are :

C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR Platinum\metronome
