I know what I am....a mere dilettante..

The space you have will always be exceeded in direct proportion to the amount of stuff you have...Thornton's Postulate.

Websites and annoy people in forums :).

I used to work in recording studios many years ago (some big ones in London).... in the days of tape.... I'm trying to revisit the "glory" days. I had a copy of Cakewalk in the mid 1990's and I didn't do much with it (my Soundblaster AWE32 had its limitations, still it was pretty good at the time). With Sonar X1 I intend to change that. Currently I'm going through (and only 40 pages to go) Scott's X1 power, and I'm logging all the issues I can find as I go along. Once I've mastered that and my Saffire I'll probably get down to some real work rather than spamming these forums and annoying tech support :)

Cheers John...

It can't be easy replicating bug problems due to hardware and compatibility...To replicate you would need identica software. Wow! cake should go hardline and say these are the computers and configs that you will get best performance.

Yes, Yes it would be going down the MAC route but...if it saves time and money. If all had the same rig or set up lol it would be easier to find bugs lol

Mac VS PC wars are long over, that was the past. You go for the operating sytem that suits you, there is no actual real difference in reliability. Human beings are what effectively causes bugs (i.e. software developers), last time I saw it human beings were making software on Macs and PCs. Apple would like you to feel that their developers are a breed above the rest and if you always buy Apple everything will be "compatible". The marketeers would like you to think that the "I'm a PC, I'm a Mac" advert reflects real life - it does not. NB the hardware is exactly the same as PCs nowadays so no contest....

NB Some bugs are easy to repro and some bugs are not. There is no rule of thumb as to which bugs are harder to repro and which bugs are not (although UI bugs can be quite easy). It's a lot easier to repro bugs if you have the source code and know what you are doing, but none of us have that.

ps I like both PCs and MACs like I like Harley Davisons and Jag e Types.
