Popping elctro sound?

Hello, I am using Sonar X1 Studio, and I was wondering how you get that sort of popping sound so that every other beat is louder and more aggressive than the beat before i. Also, I was wondering if you have a track template, can you adjust the volume by using one of those things that has a line of how loud the volume is and you can change it by making pins and moving the line up or down, and how?

You want the BTS Stereo Chopper. I use it as for trance gating effects, but you can do a lot more with it as it isn't just on-off. You can set the volume to any level for any step, adjust how smooth the transitions are, and other things.

    P.S.

Some synths (Rapture) have a built in step effect similar to this when using the Amp EG filter, but if you want to apply the effect to synths that don't have the effect natively, you'll need BTS.

    Hi CR3

The sound I think you are talking about (say a snare drum break) is often done by altering the resonance of the audio progressively with a filter.

Also it can be done at the midi stage with a volume envelope.

Before throwing a new plug-in at the task I feel you would be better served by a bit more study of the tools you already have.

In this case I'd suggest looking at track automation envelopes in the manual so you get the idea of being able to control the adjustment of just about anything you like during playback rather than limiting yourself to the specifics of a singular plug-in which you'd get more from by learning how to automate it anyway.
