Popping noise on playback

For some reason while I am playing audio on Sonar X1 Producer Edition the audio make popping noise. I changed from original to 64 bit on the audio and it still make the pop noise. I wonder if there was some type of setting or configuration to change this problem. On my old computer had Sonar 6 Producers Edition and Cakewalk Pro Audio 9, I never had no problems with those and that old computer is way inferior to this laptop. My laptop is a Intel i5, Intel HD Graphics, HD Audio, 4 GB of Ram, Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit, 500 GB of RAM, and two 500 External drives. Thanks if I can get some type of feedback.

Don't quote me but I think the popping noise is your buffer rate is to low.

You might be right man. I was thinking to myself about how most computers today have decent built in sound cards and I was planing on buying one for the laptop but since you mention the Buffer then it may be that.... I'll have to check it out

no, they don't, at least not for recording purposes.  they do not care about low CPU/low latency drivers because they are not designed for recording, they're designed for the mass public who uses them to play windows sounds and mp3's.  do yourself a favor and buy a good recording soundcard.  if you have a laptop, get a USB one.  check my website for some recommendations.

in the meantime, move your latency slider to the SAFE side.  that should help with the popping and stuttering, but will increase your latency.  if that doesn't stop it, download and install ASIO4ALL and change to ASIO driver mode.  that should help until you can get a recording soundcard.
