I briefly played with Bias Amp 2 (the one that came with Focusrite) and was impressed with one of the amps. It had a very nice tone and the chugging rhythms had a really good low/mid end to it. Changing the various preamps also produced some very nice tones.

That made me think about getting an upgrade to the full Bias Amp 2. Anyone have this full version?

I have Bias Amp Pro 1 and Bias FX Pro...
Haven't upgraded BAP2.  It's good, but not good
enough (for me) to replace S-Gear.  Don't know if
2 is any better as I haven't used it yet...

There's a new one coming out called STL Tonality,
on pre-order for $90 right now and, from the demo's
it sounds REALLY good...but you never know if they
Doctored the audio on these promos...

Just watched/listened to Ola Englund on STL Tones and do they sound fab....of course Ola can make anything sound good. He says he's only using his Apogee interface and the amp sim, but you never know.

Thanks for pointing this out, will definitely checkout the demo.

I'm thinking about getting FX Std. One thing that stops me from doing so is lack of MIDI support in this version. If I can't control wah pedal with my MIDI controller or DAW automation, what's it good for?

I just saw that only the pro version has MIDI support: https://help.positivegrid.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000245346-BIAS-FX-Product-Comparison-Chart
Which also comes with a higher price but still, BIAS should've included MIDI support for standard.

Which MIDI controller do you use SW?
Been meaning to get one....

Exactly!

I use Code 61 with sustain and expression pedals, Mesh. Perfect size for my rig and I also like the looks of it. The keybed is too sensitive to aftertouch, which isn't a bad thing, although I wish it would require slightly higher pressure to trigger afterthouch controller.

I was actually asking about a MIDI Foot controller for guitar...lol. I do have a MIDI Keyboard, but not a foot controller (yet).
Sorry for the confusion.

I see... Using a MIDI foot controller with plugins is too much hassle for me. For live playing I have quite a few hardware units, including old trusty DigiTech Valve FX and 2120 Artist with a dedicated foot controller. Good enough for practicing and recording/reamping. Some people use old digital multiFX boards with MIDI outs to control software.
