Possible to COMPLETELY backup/restore SONAR configuration, or run an alternate config?

I'm running SPlat on my laptop - for the most part it's hooked into my keys, controllers & Tascam US-1800 audio interface when I'm working on music, and that setup is working perfectly.  However, there are times when I'm away from the rig and would like to play around with things.  Unfortunately, that strikes fear in my heart, because it would require some major reconfiguration of SONAR.

The Tascam seems to work best when it's in ASIO mode - but that renders it as the only sound card, the build-in audio on the laptop doesn't run in ASIO mode (and I'd like to stay away from ASIO4ALL if possible).  I'd have to switch to an alternate audio mode to use the build-in sound card - also, the suite of MIDI devices attached would be different (or non-existent), and SONAR seems to have trouble finding everything again and enabling it if I switch devices around too much.

What I'd like to be able to do is completely backup SONAR's configuration, mess around, and then restore the config as if I'd never been there.  Or have some way to easily flip-flop between different configs (e.g. "Home Studio", "Gigging", "Couch").

Is SONAR's config confined to a number of easily identifiable files that could be backed up/restored to enable this, or does it also contain registry components and/or too many files for this to be practical?

SONAR Platinum, Windows 10, Lenovo G505s laptop (AMD A10 2.50GHz, 8GB, 1TB HDD, Radeon HD 8650G), Tascam US-1800, Roland RD-2000, Novation Impulse-61 (not using Automap), Korg nanoKontrol2 (using AZSlow control surface integration), commonly used softsynths: VB3, Dimension Pro, SI-Electric Piano, Cakewalk TTS-1.  Recently retired Yamaha KX88

That sounds like a good idea actually - starting SONAR with a command line like "SONARPLT.EXE -aud2.ini" so you could specify alternate config file(s).

Put that up in the Feature Request subforum and I'll gladly rate it.

I run a couple of different configurations and switch between them by backing up/restoring the following files containing the audio/midi settings:

    AUD.INI and TTSEQ.INI
    located in:
    C:\Users\<yourname>\App Data\Roaming\Cakewalk\SONAR Platinum

    Works like a charm:)
There is aso a file for control surface configuration that can be backed up/restored if required.

Making all of this per project would put a BIG smile on my face
