Possible to SEND from FX Bin or pre-FX?
Hi, Currently the SEND runs pre- or post-fader. Is it possible to SEND from the FX Bin? I want to send the dry synth signal to sidechain another track but currently my reverb on the signal I'm sending is keeping the release on the compressor to long...

Do you use a reverb bus. Putting the reverb on the bus and using the sends to send it a clean signal, will mean the reverb isn't in the FX bin for the track, so the sends are clean.

You could just create a dry copy and output that directly. Or use a patch point, I think. Actually no patchpoint because you have to create them from a send I think which is a shame. There's also a set of VSTs called AuxBus which can be inserted anywhere and act as sends.

Each instrument has a unique reverb. Bussed reverbs won't work for me. Sanderxpander You could just create a dry copy and output that directly. Or use a patch point, I think. AuxBus won't work either because I can't send it to a compressor sidechain. I had to send the whole strip to an AUX channel and move all the FX in the bin to the AUX channel to get a dry signal in the AUDIO channel to send as a side-chain source... Cakewalk, how hard can it be to create a SEND vst? FL studio has one...

cant you clone the track, send its output to the source, then record the sidechain data using automation.

If it's just the one synth track you're trying to send then why not put that particular reverb on a bus and send to it? If you plan on doing this with multiple tracks then obviously this won't work (unless you want a really cluttered Buss pane)

This is what linked clones are for. If it's an instrument track, split it into MIDI and audio tracks. Then clone the audio track, check the box in the clone options labeled "Link to Original Clip(s)" and un-check the "Clone Effects" option. The result is effectively a pre-FX send.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff
