Possible to just save Console settings for later recall?
I'm mixing/mastering an entire CD of 12 big band tunes and I'd like to save the console settings for use across all the tunes, at least as a starting point, to maintain sonic consistency throughout the project. Is there a way to do that?

you could delete all the tracks in what you have and then save as a template. I imagine though that you want to open a console preconfigured on an existing project. I don't think you can do that. so, a workaround (as always) would be to copy/paste your existing tracks into the new template.

That's what I was planning on doing as a workaround, but I was hoping there was a better way.

If you already have one track set up exactly the way you want it, clone it 11 times, then delete the audio data in each, then just drag the audio from your wanted audio into the blank tracks. Finally, delete the 11 you don't want.

You can record snapshot as for turning things on and off and also levels etc. But I have not tested if you then can copy/paste this automation stuff through clipboard. But worth investigating I guess. I would try mark all tracks with Ctrl+A or similar, and then copy to clipboard and shift tune, and try pasting just part of this like automation(but how it's handled over projects I'm not sure, they can be very different).

Another much needed feature request. This is the kind of stuff that pops up when your new to Sonar and are used to mixing down albums to a proper mixing desk. In the end you are forced to plan well ahead and make sure you have all the ducks in a row before you start the multi song project. Without a pre determined template you are screwed. The non ability to overlay a template is one of my passionate hates for Sonar. What would be a logical pathway to me would be as op is wishing. A virtual mixing desk that you customize and save. Simply re call when your ready to mix.

A virtual mixing desk that you customize and save. Simply re call when your ready to mix. agreed. I stumbled across another one today that drives me nuts. I used a patch from DimPro on a track (bounced to track). made note of the name (just in case). And the patch even shows in DimPro when I open it. But, where the heck is it amongst the 100s of sounds when I open the DP browser ?? If it's loaded in DimPro, why doesn't the browser default to it when you open the browser. (kind along the same lines)
