Possible to upgrade from X1 Essential to Producer and +

I want to know if when you buy an X1 Essential or Studio are they upgradeable to Producer? I wonder if the disc have all 3 on them and your key only activates your level of purchase. I would also like someone to recommend a good Latin Percussion VST or? Plug in that will work well with X1. I am brand new to this forum and not sure if I will get an email notification of any answers so email me please if needed. CharlyPetra@hotmail.com Many thanks.

Cakewalk has upgrade paths to producer from most of their product line. I started off with the Sonar le I received with an interface years ago and was pleasantly surprised I could upgrade at a reasonable rate. As far as your VST question, I think it depends on your budget and how plug and play you want this to be. The easiest path is to simply buy one of the latin percussion packs for existing software like Kontakt or one of the popular drumming software. Also, look into buying high quality samples from companies like East-West They tend to come as multi-sampled kits in popular formats and offer the original samples as well.

P.S.- when you do upgrade, you will have to download additional content.

You can upgrade from Essential or Studio, but each product including X1 has its own disk to install from. They are not all on the same disk.

Yes,I bought Studio first[1 green disc],and then instead of upgrading/downloading[we had a terrible 3G internet connection at that time that would run out very quickly] I bought the Producer Box[4 blue/cyan discs]

So I did it the expensive way,but I do like having the box,and the discs.

you wont really be losing any money with an upgrade,as i believe generaly, essentials is about 99.00. so when you upgrade to producer sometimes there arespecials and generaly your upgrade price is around 300.00.so your prety much paying the same,i mean dont qoute me on it but thats the way it is from my side..and as said before, the installation disks and serial numbers are completely different.
if i were you i would download the 30 day trial and see what you think,if you like it then you know what you want :)  just read the links i posted carefully to see the difference in versions..  .if you feel like you want more,go for the gusto and bag up producer.there is a big difference and producer is that big difference,as far as the gui its basically the same exact thing minus some features(pro channel, transient markers, exc.)
but the plug ins are where you see the biggest improvement.
