Posting from smart phone?

I cannot post from my iPhone 4 - just wondering if it is something I'm doing wrong, or if the forum software does not have facilities for smart phones...

I'll have three fingers of Glenlivet, with a little bit of pepper... and some cheese.

it's a Safari issue. iPads are the same. It's just more of Apple screwing over Windows users as this forum is an ASP architecture.

Its not only apple smartphones, even andoid phones have trouble with the message edit window. It works somewhat better with a physical keyboard but even that is a bit trickly since arrow keys don't work. I typed this from my transformer tablet by the way..

I've never been able to post from my Droid X.

I get trapped where I need to type something but the key commands aren't accessible.

    Hey Fellas!

I have an iPhone 4 and I saw a tip by someone somewhere here on the forums once who recomended PrintCentral from the App Store. It has a web browser that can be used with the forum. And it works wonders. And it also have some other neat features - like the printing it does. It's much much better than the built in OTA print services in iOS.

So, if you want a cool app that allows you to post here and print nice little print outs to your personal network printer, or any other network printer for that matter, I can seriously recomend it.

Oh, I should add, it cost $9 so I'm sure many is put off by this. But I'm an iPhone addict and use it for almost everything so to me it was a great purchase anyway. And I can reply on forums wherever I am

I know there's an app for Gearslutz. Never tried it - anyway I never posted there. I've heard of another called Tapatalk which is intended for such forums - again, never tried but I've seen mentioned a few times on Logic forums.

I've logged in and posted with my Droid 3G.... BUT, it's not the ideal way to do it. It is a task just to log in.... enlarging the page so I can see it.... then tap.......waiting for the page to load....enlarge....tap...repeat.... until I finally get there.....

No. I'll browse the forum from time to time but ... I'd rather use a computer.

ASP just spits out HTML/Javascript, it's a case of outputting stuff which can be interpreted by those devices.
There is support in ASP for mobile devices, either in the framework or through third party controls.

    http://www.asp.net/mobile

I would guess that ASP.Net Playground has not developed their software to support mobile devices,
no mention on their website anyway.

The big problem I experience is that if the interaction doesn't cause the onscreen keypad to open up... you can't type anything.

    What's a smart phone?

Does it sense my Mother-Out-Law is ringing yet again and tell her to "go away"?

    I want one of those.

JB, the phone is so smart, it has achieved sentience.  Do you really think a sapient technological life form would risk its very existence by getting in her way?  It's far too smart for that.

    Good point.

I just need a 'dumb as me phone' then?

I tried buying one of those once.  They gave me two tin cans and a string and told me it was an upgrade.

Yeah, but my string was the wrong size.  I took it back and they gave me a lot of attitude.  I worked with their Tech Support for days.  Finally, after I explained to them how I intended to use the phone.  They told me that they didn't make a string that would reach to the Moon.  Seeing my perdicament, one of them sent me behind the store where he met me in the alley.  He slipped me a dish.  It seemed exactly like a used paper plate, but he insisted that I could use it on my "cordless" phone and it would work just as well as a string.

That's good, because I'd hate to get all the way there and then find that I had no way to access the forum or order pizza.
