Practicing With Sonar

What a practice tool sonar is. Clips slowed, EQ'd , bounced, and phrases studied. Wow! I'm working on Thunder Current by Frank Gambale. Wow

After youtubing that track (Wow is right!!) and in the similar style of Frank Gambale, I played a cd of a band that I hadn't listened to for some years....Gamalon.

Whoa! Fusion is king in my book. I think I have a new favorite band! Where have I been? THANKS MESH!!! There's a couple of things I can pass on that cleans up the clips so it's easier to hear things and or learn parts. You probably already them though.

Yeah, I like them a lot too.....I first listened to them back in the early 90's and got into rock/blues/jazz/fusion as well. I then started buying all these CD's of Joey Tafolla, Frank Gambale, Blues Saraceno, Al DiMeola, Jeff Watson etc...

I read that too quickly the first time and thought is was the same guy.  I then wondered how one person could play drums AND be able to bring in the bass a half-beat afterwards.

(Then I figured he had an Alembic - I mean someone must have one of those, ya?)

I have the full version of R-mix and it's cool too for practicing.
Eliminate the part you want to play and it saves you from having to create backing tracks.
The version included with Producer is probably good too.
