Version of Sonar?

What are the steps to repro for when it 'jumps a measure'

It's probably a good idea to ask if others can repro first before jumping to any conclusions.

Are you sure it's a bug? My preferences stay when I set them. Audio jumps I can't help you with, but in my short time here, I have come to realize the "Is this a bug?" posts are usually answered with no, there is something set wrong, or the computer can't handle the intricacies of the audio engine.

I add a audio track and record vocals where I start singing lets say measure 2 when I stop recording and the sound wave is rendering it would have moved the audio two steps to the right. It happens every now and then no matter how I try to change the settings in the preferences once the preference box is closed then reopened the settings go back to its default setting.

Are you getting any indication that your windows user profile is corrupt? Is windows perhaps logging you in with a temp profile? It's sounding like your changes can't be saved to the registry for some reason. Hope you get it figured out.

This is for Windows 8.1 Pro but it is likely to be the same for Win 7.

You'll find the config files in C:\USER\Your name|Appdata\Roaming\Cakewalk\Sonar Platinum\ aud.ini

Audio (recorded) jumps a measure (bug)

Don't know if this is your exact problem but, I have this happen if I have a section looped (doesn't matter where in the project) and I hit record and snap is on, then the audio will be two beats behind (or at least a quantized value). If no section is looped, then the audio is where it's supposed to be. I just have to make sure looping is off before recording.

The resetting of the ini.file may have worked as I have recorded and the audio did not skip but I will test it out properly tomorrow as it is late in the UK.

I had this happen (audio moved right) a few times about 2 weeks ago. Hasn't happened since.  No problem with preferences.

This happens to me as well on occasion. I'll do a take and when I stop recording, the file mysteriously moves a couple of beats to the right...never the left. It seems like something in my system creates this lag. However, upon re-recording, this lag is rectified and usually doesn't happen again for that session. It also doesn't happen every time either, so it's nigh impossible to re-produce...I just live with it, since it doesn't continue with the next take. I just want to acknowledge that it occurs from time-to-time.

Preferences don't usually reset, although it has happened on occasion. EQ settings in Pro Console will also go flat on occasion. Open the same project up in X3 and settings are back. This one is of more concern and frustrating that the other 2.

Hi. Could this on a project created in earlier versions, that used the Sonitus EQ? The newer versions of SONAR uses the Quad curve EQ, and not the Sonitus. I had this happen to me before I knew about the different EQ's in PC.

Well I have tried recording today and its a no show this happens every time. The audio keeps skipping no matter what. I'm at a loss cos I am not finishing this project and I'm really looking to have a couple songs finished for this week.

I hope there is a fix for this cos this means I won't be able to move forward with my plans to have some songs mixed and played on radio  not good something as simple as recording. The metronome is out of timing, the audio is out of sync the preference won't save but return to default settings this is truly a mess. I have emailed support nothing yet, even sent the file of the problem to sonar Platinum for me is becoming a complete wash out.

Does this happen with a new project or not.

I have a saffire pro.

Do this.

Uninstall mixcontrol
Reboot.
Install mixcontrol (latest is 3.6).
Clear all settings in fix control
Restore factory default.
Configure mix control.
Save to hardware.
