Hi Rik - Lovely, inventive piece and demonstrates beautifully what can be achieved with Garritan. I could easily see this as an opening to a first symphony movement (now there is a challenge!). As for "Sun" day, I hope your piece calling the Sun to rise was successful. Here on my little Isle, it seems the Sun has forgotten we exist - it feels more like the next Ice Age has started! Best Regards Malcolm

Hi Malcolm, thanks for listening, it turned out to be a sunny day so I guess this piece worked. Well it´s a prelude to something, I hope. Just a question, did you perform all of the Beltane rituals, might be a reason for the coming of the Ice Age . Greetings, Rik

Very nice piece. GPO is very powerful for a relatively inexpensive orchestral package.

You're already working on the prelude to your 3 - part symphony with full orchestra? Wow--I'm impressed. :) Also enjoyed this little poem. Beautiful, even though I kept waiting for it to 'go somewhere.' But it's still quite nice. :)

Hi Mark. thanks for listening, glad it made you mellow. Hi Geno, thanks for listening, gpo sounds pretty nice for a freebee. Hi Janet, thanks for listening, what do you mean: kept waiting for it to go somewhere? I thought it was going downhill right from the start . If you don't even like the prelude, how are you going to sit still for the rest of the symphony ? Greetings, Rik

Flute is very good. Nice reverb you have on it. Strings sound a little thin/anemic for my taste -- I would love them to have more "bite", but that's probably a personal preference. Oboe sounds fine. - j

Hi Rik - Yes, the Beltane Ritual was fully conducted. The Sun rose, took one look and went off and hid. I cannot blame it. The sight of me dancing is not for the faint-hearted! http://wightdruids.com/in...gallery&Itemid=129 Best Regards Malcolm

No, no, no, it wasn't downhill. I meant it sounded like there was space for a guitar or piano or something to play some sort of melody or something along with it. :) But I promise I'll sit still for the symphony. :)

Hi John, Strings are a bit thin aren't they, but lets call them ethereal Hi Malcolm, I'l bet the Sun has seen worst dancing, me for one . I think the Sun is a bit miffed because you didn't write it a tune . Hi Janet, it was an uphill struggle anyway . But you're right about more melodies, but hey it's just the prelude, there's more to come. Hi Dave, thanks for listening, glad you liked it. Hi John, part 2 is floating around somewhere, just have to grab it out of thin air Greetings, Rik

This is very nice. Really nice results. I think the strings are appropriate ( ethereal, yes) with the oboe soloing. Great start....

love it. the flute is one of the best things in dim pro/gpocketo, i use it a lot in my metal stuff. i like how you have got a nice mystical feel going on here, all those augmented 4ths. you could certainly write a guitar concerto with these orchestral chops and your trusty nylon-string! i think this is great.

That's quite lovely Rik, I enjoyed it very much. I've used that 'legato flute' a lot myself it's a nice patch. I like the movement of the strings through this, nice composition.
