Presonus Faderport - Lower Price

Going for $129.95 now, so before I jump on this, I have a question for those who already have it.

Does it use a standard USB cable? (IOW, can I have it ten feet away from my DAW, or is this limited in some way?).

Or should I save my money and go for the Frontier Designs Tranzport instead?

John. I use a 10 foot usb cable for my Faderprt. I dont see any issues. For the record, i got mine for free when i bought the firestudio project years ago I sold the firestidio to get rid of my problems, but kept the faderport as it always worked for me

    Hey CJ,

Thanks for the feedback, and sorry for the late response. I actually forgot I had posted a question here. LOL.

I haven't decided yet if I want to get the Faderport, but since I just spent money on the Superior 2 upgrade (from EZD), probably best to hold off on any more gear purchases for awhile.

    CJ,

Presonus just sent my free FaderPort last week from my Firestudio Project purchase last December. I love the FaderPort! It's great to have remote access away from the computer. Only problem -in Window View, the Mix button works (goes to console view), but the project button does nothing. It seems like it should take you to the track view. If I press the Mix button, I can't get back out of the console view with the FaderPort. Do you have this same issue?

I'm having issues just getting the faderport to work with Sonar 8 . I've downloaded the latest drivers from PreSonus but i'm lost at setting the sucker up.

I am also unable to get faderport to work with Sonar 8.  It does not show up in the list under control surfaces.  Latest drivers used.  Windows X64.

    Hello,

I too am having a problem getting the FaderPort to work with Sonar 8.5.3 (64 Bit Vista)

It just sits there with the STOP button lit up. I can push some buttons to get it lit elswhere but nothing significant happens.
I have tried some of the other site suggestions but nothing has removed it from the doo-doo yet.

Cjay mentioned some possible fix by moving the driver (faderport dll) to the correct folder and another Cakewalk tech suggested that I may be loading it into the wrong file (folder..)
The Sonar (x86 folder is apperently for 32 bit platform..?)
any suggestions out there in PreSonus FaderPort land..?

I will go with the Tranzport OR V-100 before my warranty return time runs out on the FaderPort!
