Presonus Faderport and X2 Producer

Hi,

I'm looking for a compact control surface for Sonar X1 Producer, and I'm leaning heavily toward the Presonus Faderport at the moment.
I just have a few questions for anyone who has used this product with X2.

1) How well does it play with X2?
2) How much of a drawback is it to have only one fader?  Is it easy to switch between tracks using just the Faderport (without using the mouse)
3) How much control do you have over virtual instruments and other plugins?  Is it easy, for example, select patches in Dimension Pro, or to set reverb parameters?

How much would you say it decreases your use of the mouse overall?

Thanks!
Jonathan

It plays well with X2 from what ive seen. Ive used with sonar in the past, but now i have a Eucon artist series control surface.

Its really as easy as you make it. I just used it for the transport and undo functions. If you want something for mixing, then you should get something with 16 or more faders.

Each user will have a different experience with it, depending on his or her workflow.

For controlling plugins, you would have to use the learn buttons to set everything up. Depending on how you set uit up ,it could work well. But its way way way more faster to use a mouse than to use a control surface for tweaking plugin effects.

For under $100, its a good buy, compared to the one with multiple faders that cost over $1000
