Preview Clip Problem

I bought some drum loops as wav files (broadcast wav, 24.48 I think). I've got them in the browser of X1 but when I try and preview one, nothing happens. The play/stop button lights blue like it should be playing but no sound. When I drag the clip into a track it plays fine. I'm recording at 24.96 (when I click on a file, it does flash 'sample rate conversion' really fast in the transport window), could that be it or is it something else I'm missing.

There's a ton of wavs in the collection and if I have to drag them all, I'll shoot myself.

It might have something to do with the sample rate. Maybe the browser doesn't convert it?
May I be curious: For what reason are you using such lowgrade sample rate which doesn't even match the "standard"  of doubling as you go?? Or is it a typo? Do you have the sampling rate matched with your soundcard (what card?) and SONAR?

This quote is from X2 features:
SONAR lets you choose from several different sampling rates: 11025 Hz, 22050 Hz, 44100 Hz, 48000 Hz, 88200 Hz, 96000 Hz, 176400Hz, and 192000 Hz. The default used by SONAR is 44100 Hz, the same rate as audio CDs. However, you may choose a higher rate and later mixdown to 44100. You can also enter any hardware-supported value in the Sampling Rate field. Consult your hardware documentation for supported sampling rates

So, even though you can set the sampling rate you want, the one you use is somewhat "unorthodox".

    I wasn't clear, I'm recording at 24 bit 96k. The wav files are at 24 bit 48k.

Maybe temporarily change your Sonar settings to 24 bit 48K (same as the loops), close & restart Sonar, start a new project, and see if the loops "behave" any better when using a Sonar song project file that is in the same native settings as the loops? Worth an experiment.

Thanks Ed, I did something similar, I put some wavs in the media explorer that I knew were 24/96. Same thing, no go.

Then I saw they're supposed to open with windows media player, but i've never used it so I guess it's not configured yet.

Are these previews supposed to play in sonar (it isn't an option in the other programs my computer will let me use to open them) or are they supposed to play in another program.

I think I'm getting closer, any ideas anybody has to push me over the finish line would be great.

I'm assuming that you've checked the obvious and have the preview output set to an audible buss?

ive had similar issues auditioning 24 bit/96 sample rates.to be honest,im not sure the browser supports it.
i could be wrong, but i have also run into the same problem.
i cant find any documentation on this what so ever.
sorry we cant help you more with this issue.
