Preview General Midi Files In X1 Browser?

I was wondering is it possible to preview with Microsoft GS. I know you can route a bus to preview audio loops etc so it makes sense. I also figured out how to drag on to a midi clip with the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth and play the files, but its more intuitive to play in the browser. I have a bunch of my stuff in .mid files and I also have around 7 GB collection of midi history lol.

So is this possible at all?

I don't know if X1 expanded can do that, or something similar with sofsynths, but Sonar browser is a very  rough thing for me, when I start a project ,go to the browser never is selected the default audio bus(nothing is select in fact ,so you cant hear a thing), some audio file formats make Sonar buggy, not to say a word about MIDI files, you cant preview them.

I have never tried to preview with MS softsynth.  I'm going to attempt it and get back to you.  For gm files, i usually just use the included TTS-1.  I can't imagine the MS synth can do anything that TTS-1 cannot.

Carlos, if you find yourself needing to preview midi files a lot using the same synth, make a copy of your blank project template with a synth already inserted.
