Previous Addictive Drum owners get X3 deal from XLN
I don't think I'm spilling any secrets here but if you already own Addictive Drums and now purchase X3 Pro, XLN will give you your choice of either: 2 AdPaks (not Retro) or just Retro or Addictive Keys Studio Collection. At least that's what I got. Just email them with your AD product key from Cake. Sweet!

I wasn't a previous owner, but I'm really liking Addictive drums a little better than Superior drummer I think. I'm looking forward to the add-ons being on sale

Thanks yorolpal, I already own everything they sell with the exception of a few midi packs but I sent them an email anyway to see if I could at least trade them the AD serial for a few midi packs. Not sure how it will work but it could be a Win-Win deal!
Purrrfect Audio DAW here. Wow!...

If you're looking for a good, quick, get it in the mix and it sounds good product, AD is superb... If you like to "tweak and bend and twist" and get your own "individual" drum sounds, BFD and Superior are the tickets. What I find MOST impressive is that they get AD to fit in a 2 Gb footprint. That, to ME, is astounding. You don't get the velocity layers with AD, but what you get sounds GREAT for the price. And, while BFD and Superior are occupying about 50 gb....AD occupies 2 Gb....pretty amazing. That's my 2 cents...

That had always really impressed me too Larry, that an the vast army of presets that you get for lots of different genres. I'm not really a preset user my self although I have used some as starting points for learning how to certain sound is achieved but I'd really like to have seen BFD3 go to town and at least equal the number that come with AD. I thought (in theory at least) they should be able to create far better presets as BFD3 has better and wider ranging effects and far more depth and detail in their samples but so far there are only 37 presets and to be honest they're a bit vanilla. Mind you turning 167GB in to 54Gb with no loss of quality was quite impressive and I'm guessing the AD kit uncompressed would be more like 6 or 7 GB. Steve

The edition of AD in X3 has been the best part of the upgrade for me. It basically made everything else in X3 free. I will definitely be adding more adpaks in the future. I've already bought Indie and I bought Platinum samples Steve Ferrone to go with it. Best part of that is the Steve Ferrone also works in EZ drummer and Session Drummer. win, win, win!

Not to be contrary but the size of any sample library is of no concern to me vs. the quality of the library.

I know it's not such an issue these days with affordable mass storage drives which I'm sure you have acres of Bapu but my point was more the fact that it could be done at all and I'm quite impressed by that as it is totally lossless so the quality, (which is the best out there IMHO) remains unchanged. There is talk of fxpansion releasing their utility so that we can compress other libraries so my 367GB fxpansion library will become 122GB which in turn should give better disk performance so what's not to like ?
