Pro Channel Components Missing following Clean Install
Hi Guys I've just installed Sonar Pro on a new machine and find my Pro Channel compressors and tube saturation modules etc are no longer working. The EQ does however. To be clear, I can see the 1176, for example, but it's just dead. Any idea how to boot these into life. Many thanks David

Did you reboot after the install? Did you have anything else running during the install? That can definitely cause problems. Are your system specs correct? Sometimes on Win 7/8, you need to install using elevated privileges ("Run as Administrator"). I wouldn't think that would be true of Win10, but it wouldn't hurt to reboot your system (Make sure nothing else is running. Disable your antivirus just in case), and try a new install, with Run as Admin. Afterwards, reboot your system again, and don't forget to re-enable the antivirus (though the reboot normally does that).

Hi Jon
Thanks for your suggestions. Did as you suggested, this time with a manual install rather than via the command center - but still the same missing components (administrator, rebooted etc). Cheers David

Scook. That's it. On the previous computer, I had X3 (I've been using it since DOS4) and I guess I imported them from there. Will installing X3 bring them back, do you think, or do I have to upgrade to Platinum? I don't really want to as I use mostly 3rd party plugs. Thanks David

PS. I guess I can't upgrade now. I've been away and just learned of the demise of Sonar and I'm steaming!

Yes, installing X3 will add all the Producer plug-ins including the PC modules. The only one which does not work in Professional is the Quad Curve EQ w/ zoom. Professional runs the old style QCEQ. If you do not want a full X3 Producer run the advanced install option and select Minimal Installation from the drop down above the component pick list on the installer's Select Components dialog.

Hi Scook Hmm. Working fine in the 32 bit version but not in the 64 bit version. I've been installing stuff for the last 12 hours so my brains could be well scrambled - but I just cant figure this. Thanks David

Me again. Odd as it may seem, I did a reg clean with CCleaner, rebooted and all is hunky Dory. Not sure what was up there, but I'm grateful for your help. Thanks David

When you install X3 don't forget the X3e update. This may or may not affect the ProChannel, but it's best to be safe.

I found after installing X3 I needed to re-install SPLAT again in order for LP EQ to be upgraded (X3 stomps over SPLAT's version), so something to watch out for. M.
