Pro Channel Error when loading preset

Hello,

I am getting an error in PC when loading some presets...then the PC strip is complete empty: blank
I get this in a lot of presets that I now avoid loading...
But today I loaded a preset (some preset for TOMS from the fee presets on the website) and it worked for the first 2 TOM tracks...on tyne thing track: error loading the preset etc...
Is this an known issue?
I have Sonat X1D Expanded.

Thanks.
Kind regards

joni

I can confirm that a number of the downloadable presets seem to be faulty.

One makes the compressor to appear with the bottom half black.

One or two even seem to be HTML files when viewed in a text editor.

Now that I've tried more, I'm coming across some really odd effects.

Vocals_-_Lead_-_Mid_Punch for example loads the PC4K in just the format I described above.

The really strange thing is, I can remove the module, but if I then want to re-load it, it is not available in the Insert Module menu.

It only becomes available for that track/buss when I close and reopen the project.

I wonder how these pcp files got so corrupted, esp. those created by cake...

It could be because the preset is looking for a module that is not on the system. If one could list a preset that is not working or causing an error I will try it out and see if it works here.

Pwal it loaded and what it has is the EQ and the PC4K S Type Compressor. It is an Expanded preset.

There's a confirmed problem with PC presets on a very limited number of systems. A rep from Cakewalk mentioned it in another thread.

They are working on a fix.

    Yep, this is annoying.
I have expanded and it happens to me too.
I you don't have a module  that is on the preset the error should report "missing module'..bla bla bla.
    Hope they fix this.

I agree but that is what happened once before I got all the CW PC modules. I loaded a preset and it crashed PC. When I loaded the same preset with the module installed no crash.

One easy thing CW could do is make sure the preset has the name of the modules it works with in the title.

The preset in question was from the early preset page download and they didn't make a distinction between non expanded and expanded presets. Now they do.

I understand John, that makes sense. But a missing module should not crash but give you a missing plug type of error.
thanks of your "always there" support ;-)

Really that would be the very best way to handle that situation. It should have been included in the PC expanded version.
