Pro Channel Problem

Something is not working right for me with Pro Channel.  Sometimes (most often) when I click the Eq on I get a loud pop and then nothing.  No sound from any tracks.  Click Pro Channel off and everything comes back.

Anyone experiencing this?  Or solution>

Thanks,
John

Will do when I get home to get details.  It is an XP machine 4gigs and I have  Motu Ultralite interface.  The project has just a few tracks and is no where near peaking resources.  Plus the a machine built by one of the well respected DAW builders on the site. Have no issues with other versions of Sonar.  Dont think it is a problem there.

Wierd if I select a Pro Channel preset it doesnt have an issue just if I start from scratch.

    I have seen this, too.
One Track ProChannel muted whole project. I could not get sound until restarting X1a.

I use a Windows PC computer.

When I click on the Saturation on/off it sometimes requires two or more clicks to turn it on... sometimes it doesn't... so if you try the double click, sometimes you are turning it on and off quickly... other times you are actually turning it on.

    Good Luck.

    best regards,
    mike

Ive been having this issue lately, have all patches installed, seems to be random when freezing and unfreezing soft synths, omnispehere in particular. Cant even get one track to play at all, tried loading pro channel preset, by passing pro channel altogether. The only way to sort the problem was to insert a new instance of omnisphere and try to replicate the track, then delete the old track.

The way it's working now a days is that you have to post a video of the problem happening on YouTube.

    Otherwise...

Even if you can't catch it on video... this thread demonstrates that the observation of these problems started days after the release of X1.

    Good luck!

    best regards,
    mike

Yes, same here...  I use lots of Virtual Synths (Vienna, East West, Kontakt), and Pro Channel is very unpredictable randomly greying out all together without the ability to bring back even after unfreezing to try and re-freeze.  Like you said, you have to rebuild a whole new track.  Sucks.... I guess we can only wait and X1C... I'm looking into other DAWs for the first time since Sonar 2.  Over the years I have used Sonar 2,4,5,7,8,8.5, X1a &b.

Please make a video and post it.

Cakewalk needs to see it so that they can try to find out what and why this stuff is happening.

    all the best,

That is Working As Designed. Prochannel goes gray because its processing is frozen into the rendering, and it can't be made active again except by unfreezing.

Many find this problematic, but it's not a bug.

I'm not speaking of the lack of ability to re-enable the EQ/comp on frozen tracks (which was the way it was it sonar 8 with sonitus eq and with Sonar x1a.... that ability was taken away as of X1b)  (May not be a bug, but killed the flow and bugs the crap out of me)

I'm speaking of regular audio tracks (non-frozen) that had pro channel turned on and enabled, came back to tweak the final mix and at least half of the projects pro channels were completely greyed out, could not re-enable them, and these were not frozen tracks.  They worked, saved and closed, came back, re-opened and they no longer worked.

Okay. Guess I misinterpreted: "...greying out all together without the ability to bring back even after unfreezing..."

It's no wonder the Bakers are having such a hard time drawing a bead on this issue.
