Pro Channel VU meter hidden

I installed Sonar X1 on my HP laptop w/15.1" LCD running 1366 x 768 resolution under Windows 7 64.  When I select ProChannel in the Track Inspector, the VU meter is hidden from the top of the strip.  The only way I can view it is to change to the compact mode and then resize the strip until I see the VU meter.  I called Support today and was shown how to use the Console view and then select ProChannel to see the full strip.

Does anyone know of a solution to this?  I would like to be able to see ALL of the ProChannel from the Track Inspector using the normal view mode.  The 1366 x 768 resolution is the highest I can get out of the HP laptop.

Other than that, do problems with running my 8.5.3 songs - mostly audio.

Thanks all.

    Hi Rimshot,

One thing you can do is undock the inspector.  At your resolution with the Inspector undocked, using CompactEQ you should be able to see the whole ProChannel.

I hope this helps a bit.

I have the same problem on my laptop with the highest res of 1028.  I don't think it is resolution.  There is no slider to let you move the channel to see the compressor.  How can I fix it?

I have noticed this issue too, even on my desktop. A slider would help, although hitting C to hide the control bar helps.

It would be nice to have the control bars presence stored in Screenshots also. Currently no information about the control bar is stored.

But I'm having the same problem, and I'm at 1440 x 900 - well over the minimum screen resolution.

Allowing the mouse-wheel to scroll the Pro Channel GUI up and down would be the most elegent solution, imho.

    EDIT: fixed typo

Hmm, as I do not have X1 I can't help, but maybe you are in a layout which doesn't allow Pro Channel to expand fully? Just an idea of course, can't think of anything else!

The problem happens when you have the Pro Channel docked on the left or right.  Here a screenshot that shows how it looks on the left-side of my 1440x900 screen:

It fits nicely on my secondary 17" square monitor, but on my 20" widescreen and laptop I see this problem.

"Allowing the mouse-wheel to scroll the Pro Channel GUI up and down would be the most elegent solution, imho"

So true. I cant believe this was overlooked.

thegeek, buy X1, then maybe you can help out
