Pro Channel

I've just recorded tracks for a song and up until now I've just been recording in the track view. Drag & drop vst's and adjust levels in that view. I'm now experimenting with using pro channel. When I open the pro channel view, I can hi-lite certain things to adjust but the knobs wont turn. Or, if for example I go to console emulator, I can click and change s-type to n-type but after I hi-lite a knob like drive or trim, I can't get the knobs to turn. Also, I'm hearing no audio difference in the track being played while I try different console emulator settings with pro channel. I know I'm missing something but not sure what. Was it necessary to begin the project using pro channel in order for it to work? I'm not sure.  Suggestions pls?

I know exactly what you're talking about, I've had this happen every now and then where the ProChannel plug-in "freezes" in a particular state. In my setup it's rare. Toggling the ProChannel's global bypass switch doesn't seem to solve the problem.

When this happens, I've been trying to save the project to send to Cakewalk for evaluation, but the good news/bad news is if I close Sonar, open it, and load the project again, everything works (the good news) so it won't be that useful to the Bakers (the bad news).

Try closing and re-opening Sonar, then calling up the project. If it opens in a failed state and this is reproducible, that would be tremendously helpful to the Bakers. So far my experience with this has been like a UFO sighting - I know I've seen it, but have no physical proof.

I tried closing/re-opening, nothing really changed. I've noticed if I manually adjust the eq "line" the knobs will automatically move as I adjust. But when I hi-lite any knob with pro channel there's no movement when I try to adjust in that way. Will carry on with how I've been doing it without pro channel for now. Thanks Anderton.

Ignorant question here, but do you have the ProChannel on?

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

That is not an ignorant question. Its the first thing that came to mind when I read the OP. I have never had such a problem.

Guess I might be ignorant to that option. I didn't know there was an on/off with pro channel. Maybe that's what I'm overlooking. Could someone guide me through the on/off procedure of the pro channel? Thanks in advance.

At the top of each module is a button toward the right. If its blue its on. Click it to turn it on. Also in the Inspector in the Pro Channel module a larger blue can turn the Pro Channel on or off. When you load a module into Pro Channel it will be on by default.

John, thanks for your help. Will give that a try and update. I didn't realize that there was that option to turn pro channel on/off. Seems like a simple thing that has been overlooked at my end. I'm just now trying pro channel. Never ending learning curve with Sonar ... but I like it ...

The more you get into Sonar the more there is to like. I have had or do have or used just about all the DAWs and I have always come back to Sonar for real work. It is as some say my goto DAW.

I hope you will have a great time with it.
