We bought it for compatibility, mainly.

Performance is sub par, even on an optimized mac. Logic, Studio One and Live all outperform PT on this machine (prior to any optimization).

I can have 12 times as many tracks, plug-ins and instruments running in Logic, punch in, add tracks and instruments, set loop points, etc, all in real time w/o a hiccup, all at lowest latency (32 samples) - that's using an Avid audio interface, ironically enough.

To simply play back a similar mix in PT, I have to increase the buffers to at least 128. I still get an occasional glitch/drop out. And that's just playing back. I wouldn't dare adding an EQ to a track...

I'm also less than excited about the way it handles instruments w/ multiple outputs. Manually creating aux tracks for each output and assigning each of them one at a time? Really? And then if you want to "render", start again, create audio tracks, label them and assign inputs one at a time... And then record, in real time. Couldn't you make this any longer, Avid?

To be fair, I do like certain things about it, and I'll keep on dabbling w/ it and reading manuals because I will to have to use it.

Hi Bapu!

New York - Same building complex as last year, but different tower, on a higher floor, with a much bigger place. It's so nice to finally have all my studio stuff w/ me.

We're heading for Vegas and the desert permanently, and I don't really tolerate heat, so I thought I'd get rid of as much hair as I could. ;)

I remember getting my hair cut.  It was in the '70's.  I still don't think the perm was a good idea.

Rain's married now Bapu.  Guys always cut their long hair once the knot has been tied.
(Or is it usually the ladies that do that???)

Actually, my wife didn't want me to get a haircut - that was way back last year before the wedding. But now she digs it. :P And I keep on trimming, shorter and shorter.

I'm in no hurry to see her do the same though, I admit. Though I'll adore her just the same.
