ProChannel EQ Display

I have a question about ProChannel EQ display. I can only get the Inspector to show the compact view, not the full EQ view. I think this happened sometime after upgrading in the spring. I can access the full EQ from individual tracks/busses in the console view, but that's an extra step to open and close ProChannel there. I'm using X1 Expanded (X1d Build 535), been upgrading since Sonar 5. Any similar problems/suggestions are greatly appreciated ~ Thanks!

Click on the double-headed arrows on the right side of the EQ header.

Clicking on the double arrows in CONSOLE view does, indeed, expand/collapse the module... but, if I understood the OP, he wants to be able to see the full EQ module in the Inspector view.

I may be missing something (probably, in fact), but I have never been able to see anything other than the compact view in Inspector.

You can right click withing the EQ graph to set plot resolution, and you can reset (or bypass) any of the 4 bands by double-left-clicking it, but I don't believe I have ever seen the full module in Inspector.

I've just started a thread about this.  Sorry if this is duplicating, but just noticed this thread that didn't come up when I did a search for "scrolling ProChannel". I'm wondering what's different about Brandon's and Seth's system that they can scroll their ProChannel strip while docked at the left.  I've seen them do it in videos for X1 and just watched them do it in the Webinar in X2.

you can do that with the mouse-wheel
you need version X1d to do it though

Thanks for the input... I do have X1d and still cannot scroll the ProChannel strip with my mouse wheel... maybe a setting in my mouse setup? ... but my scroll wheel works fine everywhere else.  Also, I am not able to drag and rearrange modules in the ProChannel strip that I see in Sonar X1 videos...

Is anybody able to do this?  Maybe if you say yes, I'll be able to compare systems and figure it out.

EDIT: Someone in the other thread explained it. It's a function included in "Expanded" only.  Cool feature. I may have to put up the bucks...

Thanks again,
Rob

The illustration that Bristol-Jonesey posted shows the full EQ in the Track Inspector. I used to be able to see that, but no longer - the TI only shows the compact version - the EQ graph and the High- and Low-Pass controls. And the double-arrows expand/contract only between the compact view and a single-space header. I do have Expanded, and can position any module within the TI. Regarding scrolling, I could never get that to work for ProChannel, and had to screw around with monitor resolution to make it all fit. And, for some reason, my paragraphs in this forum all get compacted to a single run-on paragraph... Sorry

bottom of PC column, "Display" and downward arrow.

click downward arrow, module options, pro channel

there is a cool help system in sonar accesible by F1, pretty much every question that has ever been asked on this forum has an answer in the F1, or the knowledge base

Just another thought: ProChannel is scrollable in the Console View but is not scrollable in the Inspector View.

I think it sbould be.

If you are talking about mousewheel scroll, I can do it in both inspector and console view if I remember correctly.

What I meant to say is.. ProChannel can be scrolled in both CV and Inspector View.

... but you have to click on it first.

In fact it is the Console strips in the Inspector that won't scroll, but I wish they would so you can have all the modules displayed and still use them.

Hope that clears up any confusions about what I said wrong.

oh.. so it IS expanded-exlusive..?! =O
I really thought this would be included in all versions of producer since it's such an important feature, especially for people working on laptops or anyone working on small screens / with low resolution..

yeah. it's definitely a great feature. and it'll become even more important in X2, since you now can (and probably will) use PC for all effects thanks to the new FX chains for the PC feature.. :)

(You're plan is to upgrade to X2 and not X1 expanded, right?)

Exactly... with the ability to use the PC strip as your FX bin (I wonder if this capability is only in Expanded as well??...will there even BE an X2 Expanded???), I would think that being able to scroll the strip would be built into the standard interface.  I'm in on the automatic upgrade to X2 after getting X1 last week. Once I get it, I'll experiment with the PC strip.  If I have to spend the extra $50 bucks to be able to move and manipulate the PC, I probably will.

Cheers

There may be and Expanded X2 Producer at some future date (only CW knows for sure) but all the features that you have been discussing are available in X2 Producer.

Thanks, BW - now I feel like an idiot.   I have ProChannel undocked on a separate monitor, and the Display Menu at the bottom was hidden. I was always looking for it up with the rest of the menu items, and overlooked the visual references to it in my searches for "pro channel EQ display."
