ProChannel GUIs not displaying correctly
I was wondering if someone can help? Firstly I would like to say how amazed I am with Sonar still, I have been a user since version 6 and it just keeps getting better and better. With my lastest install though I have noticed a small problem with some of the ProChannel GUIs not displaying properly in Sonar Platinum, I just get a generic box with sliders on. The main culprit is the PC4K S-Type Bus Compressor which appears with its correct GUI in the Master and Preview bus, but as soon as I create a new bus it comes up with just sliders, no graphics? There are a cople of other ProChannel modules that do the same but I am away from my DAW and I cannot remember which ones. I am also pretty sure that this is only happening with the busses as well. Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you reset as well as re-scan the plug-ins after the installation? That has solved a variety of plug-in related problems for people, so it's a good place to start...can't hurt, might help.

Yes I have tried this a couple of times and it has not helped the issue, it is a real strange one. I cannot fathom why it cannot find the GUI's upon new creation of a bus and also if say on the preview bus I delete the compressor and re-add the GUI disappears...

I have the same problem and have not had any luck with the listed fixes. My PC4K GUI always displays as a list of sliders. Did you ever find a fix?

Hello ColbyGray, yes I did find a fix. Somehow the DLL files had become corrupted on a few of my modules, so I literally found the offending DLLs, deleted them and then reinstalled from the installer and it all worked perfectly. I am pretty sure that I found a way to do a custom install (not through the Command Centre, I think I found it under my list of purchased products) and I was able to just download the prochannel DLLs again.

Hello again. I could not find the dll files anywhere. A search for pc4k* did not locate any items on the drive that sonar is installed. I got the same result when I searched for prochannel* (no .dll files listed) so I did an uninstall of sonar followed by a full reinstall. The problem persisted. Then I used command center to reinstall everything. Still no luck. When I go to prochannel and insert a new module, the PC4K compressor does not have a little icon. Neither does the other compressor. The other modules all have their icons present. Anyway...I can use other compressors, but it would be nice to have the PC4K back. I really like the way the side chain works. If you remember the name of the module files and would like to share that would be great. Any other suggestions would be helpful. Thank you very much! Colby

The PC4K S-Type Bus Compressor is "PCS-BusCM.dll" and is found directly in "Shared Utilities \ Internal". This module does not have its own folder as do most other PC modules. The same goes for the PC 76 Channel Compressor "PCS-NukeCM.dll" and the EQ "PCS-GlossEQM.dll". So these three do not have "Resources" folders to hold the bitmaps for their UIs and icons. I don't know where those items could be. The titles in these modules in their UIs don't show in their complete forms either, just "COMPRESSOR" AND "EQ". Since the bus compressor appears on your Master and Preview busses (and I presume the EQ as well), the dll's must be present so something else is going on. You should probably contact Cakewalk support at this point .

Hello Paul. I really appreciate your prompt reply. Now that I know the names of the .dll files it should be a lot easier to work with them. Like I say, I have plenty of compressors to choose from so I don't really need to use the sonar ones, but it would be nice to have them since I am so familiar with their use. Once again, thank you very much for your help. Best regards, Colby

ColbyGray ... it would be nice to have them since I am so familiar with their use.
They are the system default modules, so you're certainly entitled to have them and use them.
