Problem Using Two Audio I/Fs - Fireface & Fractal

I'm trying to enable audio I/F drivers in X3 for both my RMI Fireface and Fractal Axe/FX II simultaneously. Both work when enabled alone but when the ports for one are enabled, the ports for the other are grayed out. Why?

If you're using ASIO, with rare exceptions you can use only one ASIO device at a time. Windows' native audio drivers (e.g., MME, WDM) can aggregate interfaces. Here's an article with more info.

Thanks, Craig. I probably knew that at one time, lol. I'll try some other options.

Hi. Could you not connect the Axe via Spdif? I do this with my Pod HD 500, even when connected via USB to my pc.
Hope it helps.
All the best.

That's a GREAT tip! Why didn't I think of that?

That was my #1 other option and it's what I did. It works well and simplifies things, though it still seems a waste to have to make yet another connection. It's been a while since I did any recording and I'd forgotten about the ASIO limitation and also that RME removed all non ASIO driver protocols in the last version (which is what I'm using).
