Problem dragging audio clip to specific time on track

Hey Guys
Has anyone else had this problem...when dragging an audio file onto a track, no matter where the curser is placed,
the file lands way down to the right, and a broken line is inserted on the track. It doesn't happen all the time..just can't figure what causes it. Thanks for any help!

Hi. Is always import audio at timestamp, under Preferences (P), File,  Audio Data checked? If so, try to uncheck it.
    Best of luck.

ive had the same problem even with time stamp disabled / enabled.
drag it in from the browser, if you cant see it, look at the end of the time line.
but Zargg is correct, usually this should help/

    Windows 8.1 X64 Sonar Platinum x64
    Custom built: Asrock z97 1150 - Intel I7 4790k - 16GB corsair DDR3 1600 - PNY SSD 220GB
Focusrite Saffire 18I8 - Mackie Control
