Problem installing Cakewalk

Hello. I am trying to install cakewalk music creator 2003 but it keeps telling me to install DirectX. I do that but although it tells me that DirectX has successfully installed, it won't let me go any farther. Also if I exit and try again it tells me that I need to install DirectX. Should I just give up and buy Cubasis?

    Read this support document by cakewalk it may be able to help in your case. The problem is known.

    Why? Did you get Music Creator for free? Is it a legal copy? I'm not so quick to throw away money on software if I can't get it to work.

    What are your computer's specs? What version of Windows are you using? Need more info.

    What are the messages that you are getting? If you'd pay attention to the message you get, you could do a search on the internet for that message and perhaps find an easy answer. I've solved many problems that way.

    Go to Start-Run and enter dxdiag. That will run the DirectX diagnostics. Perhaps you have a conflict or a problem.

    BTW. there is a Music Creator Forum. This forum is for the product called Home Studio.
