Problem when replacing a vsti

I open a project and replace a vsti with another using the right click replace command (midi data is already in the track) but when replaced the track does not sound??

Any ideas?

Have you checked the routing and note mapping?

yeah checked all that...thing is if I use the Insert Synth from the menu bar it all works as one would expect (when the output is routed to the new insert), just not with Replace Synth...so at this stage I am unsure if it is Sonar, my system, or most likely...me

Is the Audio engine turned off in the Control Bar as a result of the change in plugin? Ive had that a few times and i didn't find it until I had a doh moment.

Depending on the plugin you are switching to, you might need to load a patch (Dim Pro for example)

Also check your midi data - are the notes falling within the range of the patch? Is it transmitting on the correct Midi channel?
