Problem while exporting

Hi everybody,

I'm experiencing some troubles in Sonar 8.5 PE.
While exporting to MP3, using Lame as MP3 Encoder, I don't have the beginning of my music !

I must go back into Sonar to insert a few measures before the beginning, and then cut the extra time in Audacity.

Did anyone experience this before ?
Any fix ?

Thanks
Alex

do you have some softsynths in your project?

I always start my projects 2 measures from the beginning.  a lot of softsynths need a few millisecs to "start up" and while 2 measures is usually over kill for that purpose, it also allows me to have a count in if I need it.

then when exporting you can just select on the timeline the part you want to export and exclude that 1st 2 measures if you want.

Yes, I have a lot of soft synths, my 4 tracks are made of.

So when exporting, if you select only from the beginning of the music, excluding the first two measures, the result might be the same, no ?

    Thanks

maybe.  what I normally do is not what i mentioned above, but I normally go ahead and export the whole thing, then open it back up in sonar or in audacity or something and cut off the beginning and end that I don't want.

The second method Beagle uses is what I do. Just export the whole song and then the next step is what would be classified as Mastering. Us either Sonar  or Mastering software like Audacity or Wave Lab.  Cutting the beginning the exactly where you want it and then cutting or fading the ending. Always leave at least one blank measure at the beginning.
For me it's just a left over from the days of tape, ha ha.
I always export as a WAVE file , Master , then convert to MP3.
