Problem with Faders

Hi all.  I've just migrated onto a new machine (Windows 7) and after installing X1 and the upgrades I began bringing over some Sonar 8.5 projects that were on my old XP machine.  In every one of them the fader(s) do not work properly under X1.  When the fader "triangle" is pulled from the beginning or end of the audio clip and I play the clip it is muted until the "now time" line has moved out of the fader area.  I've tried seeing if there was some setting in the audio configuration file such LinkPFSend that needed to be changed, but with no luck.  I assume this is some setting I'm not aware of.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Thanks in advance. Mark

I was totally unable to use X1 until I used it on projects created on X1 from templates created in X1. Perhaps that could be the case with you. (I'm on an older XP machine).

Hi Jay.  I gave your suggestion a try, with mixed results.  I created a new project and imported an audio track into it.  When I slide the fader the audio data appears as diminished in decibel volume under the fader curve, but it still is mute until the now line leaves the fader area.  I then put the audio track in the loop construction window and applied process->fader/envelope.  In that case the clip is faded and plays properly.  I am going to check to see if there is some weirdness with the amount of bits for the audio track.  Thanks for the help.  Mark

OK, for those of you who might encounter this problem, I got the faders to start working again by doing the following.  I opened preferences and went to driver settings.  I unchecked 64 bit double precision.  The faders work now as they did under XP in Sonar 8.5.  I am not sure if this problem arose because the audio track is 24 bit, or if there is some issue with my driver.  I use an L6 POD X3L for my sound card, and it claims to have 64 bit compatible drivers, but there could be some aspect of the driver that makes it incompatible with the Sonar 64 bit setting.  I am clueless, as usual.  I just monkey with things until they sort of work.
