Problem with Input Monitoring Working

Hello all,
 
So I'm having an issue. I have Sonar X1 Studio. Im using a Behringer XENYX 1832 FX Mixing Board as my audio interface. I plugged in my electric guitar to the mixing board and tried to play with effects live within Sonar but all i ever hear is a clean signal that i'm postive is being produced by the mixing board, not Sonar. I have turned on Input Echo but i can still hear no effects applied to the sound. So my question is, how do i monitor my sound through Sonar, not through the board? I just want to be able to play with cool sounds on my guitar!! Any help is appreciated!
