Problem with iZotope Nectar

Anybody running a 64-bit version of iZotope Nectar under Windows 8.1? If so, are you sure it's the 64-bit version?

I have been unable to get 2 of the 3 Nectar Suite components (64-bit version) to register when scanned. The 32-bit version registers OK, so at least I have a workaround.

Although the scan fails, the DLLs still get entered into the inventory (registry). When I look them up there it's saying the two failing DLLs are 32-bit. At first I thought the install package was screwed up. However, I have verified that the DLLs are in fact 64-bit files.

I have traced the registration process using Process Monitor, and there is no indication there of a permissions issue or a missing dependency. The other 50 files (Ozone, Alloy, Trash, etc.) all register OK - it's just the 64-bit Nectar that's uncooperative.

One other question for y'all: did you receive your O7 license via email, or did you find it in your account? I've already pestered Eric more than once over my licenses, which had apparently got spam-trapped. I don't want to make a nuisance of myself.

Strangely enough, similar problem with the 3 Nectar2 plugs in Logic under El Capitan. All other Ozone7 Advanced plugs passed.

Not that it helps here,  but I'm running 64 bit in Win 10 and everything is fine. My Ozone 7 was in my account.

Ozone 7 Advanced License was in my Izotope account, all the licenses for the bundle via Email, but the only ones I used were for Ozone 7 Advanced and Trash 2 and expansions, I already had everything else and therefore has been installed for quite some time.

Guess I'll have to contact iZotope support about both issues.

One of these days, anyway. ATM I'm having so much fun with Sean Costello's latest gift to the world, ValhallaPlate that it's pushed iZotope right off the agenda, at least for the next few days.

I did not install the VST2 version of Nectar, 64bit VST3 shows up OK in Win10 (don't have SONAR 8.5 installed either).
Have you updated your VST scanner recently? It might be time to demo SONAR.

I noticed my O7 serial in my account well before receiving an email from Izotope.

I am committed to sticking with SONAR 8.5. It does everything I need it to do, and a couple very important things (to me) that all later versions of SONAR cannot.

I would like to have the newer VST scanner, though, as it has the ability to write to a log during the scan. I doubt my problem is an issue with the scanner, though. All it does is call functions in the VST itself that do most of the work, and all the scanner has to do is summarize what the VST tells it. Unfortunately, that also means the scanner only knows if the registration failed, never why it failed.

Process Monitor has been my main tool for troubleshooting plugins that don't scan, because it will identify any external dependencies and tell you if Windows permissions prevented some step from executing. Unfortunately, every step says SUCCESS. The plugins even appear in the registry, but not in the effects list. In the registry they are incorrectly identified as 32-bit DLLs, but I suspect that's just because the scanner never got to the step where it asks the DLL that question.

As for the O7 license, I'll just check my iZotope account periodically and hope it shows up. If it doesn't in a week or so I'll contact support.
