    Look on the Delta control panel in Windows for a +4/-10 dBv checkbox. This can result in much lower levels. Your Delta may be expecting a +4 dBu level and you are feeding it -10dBv.

    yes, that is almost certainly the problem. also, if you've gone from 16 to 24 bit recording depth, the 24-bit will have a significantly lower noise floor, but it won't change the signal to noise ratio so your stuff will sound a lot quieter (it's not really though, you just have to turn it up).

    the drums, etc. sound "bad" because they are quiet. turn them up in the DAW and you'll notice the difference.

    Yep...that was it! I didnt even think about the fact that the delta mixer needed to be matched like that.....thanks alot now back to business
