Problem with older projects from different driver

Dear sirs. :)

Older projects were recorded using an Allen & Heath mixer on ASIO4ALL drivers.
I have since got a Roland Octa capture.
I can not open these older projects; I get an error saying something like "Unable to open audio device blablabla"
Changing from Rolands ASIO to MME works, and give me sound and I can edit.
Problem is, the MME drivers works really bad, and can not take any plugins without stuttering and other artifacts.
Is there a way to convert these older projects and make them work with Roland's ASIO drivers?

Mox,
Welcome to site this morning, at least here it's  morning. Lol. I noticed this same situation between a Behringer unit I  have and a m-audio unit. I only use asio drivers for both units. I've  had to go into preferences and under instruments available I see both units listed, but only one or the other can be used at a time. I've  had to uncheck the ones being used and recheck the ones that I  must have used to record different tunes. After checking the alternate interface boxes I  was able to work on songs. Usually the midi side of it is not affected, but if it is, change that under the midi tab and correct any oddities there. Hope this helps. Took me a while to figure this one out. Something must be getting embedded in the audio part that requires the change. Once I  went to change audio format in upper task bar, but that didn't work. At least not for me. Hope someone has been able to change these items and chimes in with better answer. For now using two devices is OK if need be.

Hi, and welcome to this forum.
I would uninstall ASIO4ALL, if you are no longer using it.

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your Octa Capture.
When SONAR is open, go to Preferences (P), Audio, Devices, and check the Octa Capture as the only device.
Under Preferences (P), Audio, Drivers, check ASIO.

You can only have one ASIO device at one time in Windows, so that might be why MME is working, and ASIO not.
Hope it helps.
All the best.

Thank you for your participation, gents!
Ken: The ASIO4ALL drivers are long gone. Uninstalled as soon as I got the Roland, and there are no other options to choose, but the correct ones. Everything is actually working fine, and the problem is attached only to projects recorded on the A&E with ASIO4ALL. (Uninstalled years ago.)

MJ : I have to read your post some more. :) But I am only using the Roland, and there are no other drivers installed on my system. Problem only occur on mentioned older projects.

Thanks again, guys! :)

i have seen a lot of funny issues with Octa-capture being fixed by building a new aud.ini file.

I find it and rename it.old and then let Sonar build a new one.

Mox,
As zargg, was saying......in my case two units were used to record at different times. In preferences I  have both the maudio and the beringer listed. Only being able to use asio of one unit at a time. When all maudio boxes are checked the beringer is grayed out and not available for use. Unchecking all maudio boxes allows for the behringer boxes to become available. When these are checked, the maudio goes gray and are unusable. On the tunes recorded by these two units, they will only playback on the unit they were recorded with. Changing the audio format does not allow for fix. It is a small workaround, but I am able to hear all recordings. If there is a way to allow for playback on one device, I  would like to know what it is.

That is the answer right there, musicjohnnie. Been searching for quite a while.
-Not the answer I wanted, but at least, I can quit searching. :)
Here is what I have understood: I must reinstall the A&H mixer with ASIO4ALL drivers, and select/deselect as needed?

Thanks a lot all of yous!  :)
