You need to list details of your set up, What audio interface are you using etc. Most likely your trying to use a computer that is not set up properly for running a DAW. Spew some specs and then we'll see.

You have asked an extremely vague question. Is it a stereo file that you are trying to (re)master, or is it a full session you are trying to mix?

If you mean literally how to repair a particular vocal track which is late in a project, you need to turn the Grid off, and then simply drag the clips a bit to the left.  Zoom in so you can see detail.  You can line up peaks in the vocal where words start, which in many cases should be lining up with the beats in the time line, so you have a visual guide to go by.

The cause might be that you have to many plugins running when the vocal was recorded.

Each plugin might have a delay, and Sonar is compensating to line tracks up by delaying all other tracks not running this plugin.

This means that singer might listen to a delayed audio and thereby singing late from where vocal audio clip is placed.

I had a thread on this issue if Sonar is adjusting placement of recorded tracks according to the used delay compensation at the time. But we never got a clear understanding of this and putting questions to Cake support receiving no reply etc.

So as suggested, nudge the recorded tracks a bit to line up.

It would really be a good feature if Sonar handled this automatically.

Doh: I read "...louder than other sounds"! I am a fool. :-( My apologies, but not to my brain, which deserves remedial reading lessons.
