Problem with z3ta VST

Hi all,

recently I purchased z3ta but until last night I didn't realise that the VST part doesn't work (I have obviously being using the DXi).

When I add a z3ta VST track everything seems ok, until I click on the button to view the VST and I get a 'VST failed to load' error message. I have tried re-installing but no luck. Strange thing is the z3ta VST effects work!!!!

I have added this to the RGC audio forum over at KVR, but thought being as I use P5V2 someone might have had similar problems?

cheers

Do a total reset of the VST adapter and then rescan all the plugins...that usually resolves this kind of error.

Rob is right in his diagnosis; the Reset All should do it. If it doesn't, make sure to write back, and we'll try again. The VST version of z3ta+ is the one of the two with reliable automation capability, so you definitely want that one functional.

I've always had an issue with z3ta+ VST and the VST-DX adapter. When I run the adapter for the first time, or use Reset All, it will detect the z3ta+ VST but an error message always appears saying that the plugin is risky. I choose "Disable Plugin" and then re-run the VST adapter and check the "Re-scan failed plugins" box - then it will detect and load z3ta+ correctly.

thanks for the answers guys. I tried to Reset All, but that didn't work either I might have to re-install P5 - see if that works. I got an answer from rene over at KVR - suggests fx plugins might have been placed incorrectly - will try that and see how it goes

    thanks again

    Rich,

May I recommend the book "How To Make A Noise" by Simon Cann? It's great for synth newbies and it uses z3ta+ (along with some other great synths) for its examples.

There's a free version of the book, and a hi-res payware version (only $10 though). You can find both at:

    www.noisesculpture.com

You probably have to read z3ta+'s manual first, but I though Simon's book was very good.

cheers for that FAC, I have already DLd it - I have had a brief glance at it and it does seem very good but I get lost when he goes thru describing how he constructed patches - I def need to RTFM in regards to z3ta - find out how it works then find out how to program synths using How to Make a Noise.

    cheers again,

Yeah, the book is no replacement for the synth's manual. If you have any questions about how to make certain patches in z3ta+, don't hesitate to ask.
