Problems Burning a CD??
I'm trying to burn a good old fashioned CD (never thought I'd say that) of 19 songs I've recorded over the last 8 years. Some were recorded in 24 bit, some in 16. I've exported everything as a Wave BroadCast File and as a RIFF Wave file. Hasn't worked. Everytime I try to burn it in, both the Windows Media Player and the Sonar CD burning software, it burns the first track and then finalizes the disc, essentially ending it there. I've rearranged the song order. I've tried uninstalling the driver for my CD burner/drive, then restarting and automatically reinstalling it. Hasn't worked. Two bits of info that may be important is that I also use this desktop to sync my iPhone and run iTunes, and I've disabled my onboard sound card. I'm thinking there may be a conflict somewhere there. Is there any advice any of you can give me of how I can get a full length CD burned? I know you guys can help me out, you always have in the past. Thanks, ADAM

I assume all your exported wavs are 16 bit/44,1 kHz? If not, a CD can't be burned. I don't think I've ever heard of a problem exactly like that. You say they were recorded in variying formats, but you don't tell more. Your soundcard should not have anything to do with the burning process. I wouldn't exclude the possibility that the burner and it's firmware is to blame.

Yes, everything is exported in 16 bit 44.1 kHz. My burner works when I use it in iTunes. Any advice?

Are you making MP3 or audio CD's when you use iTunes? MP3 is data, wav is audio. Be careful to have all settings corretctly.

When you burn the CD with one track, does the track play properly? Look at the file(s) on the CD in Windows Explorer. What is the name of the file(s) that were created? Do you get any error messages?

Unless I play the Playlist in Windows Media Player, I get get an error message saying that I don't have the rights to burn the CD. I tried playing the entire songlist several times. Then I tried to use the Sonar CD burning software and it just closed the CD after one song. Yes, the one song plays on a regular CD player, without mp3 capabilities, I have, just for this type of testing. I am not burning the CD as an mp3 setting in iTunes, it is an audio CD. DaveNY5, I can't believe you're still on this forum. I haven't been here in over a year. Thanks for the help.

OK, i was able to import the playlist into iTunes and burn 5 CDs. That's the max iTunes will let us burn to control copywritten material. Now I have to fix my Windows Media Player or Sonar CD burning program. Does anyone have any suggestions?
