Problems geting sound from mics and instruments after pressing solo

Hi all I am having problems geting sound from mics and instruments after pressing solo

For instance when tracking in a session so a singer in the live room if I solo out the track to check some thing in it then un solo the tracks there mic and my talk back mic wont work

I have found I have to hit play and then everything is back as it was ......

Not a huge problem I just need to always remember to hit play and then stop before I can speak to the person in the live room again

Is this a X1 issue or something I am doing wrong ?
