Thanks for your reply. I have now managed to set up the faders but I cannot understand how to get the transport controls working with the Generic Control Surface plugin - could you walk me through this?
Thanks,
Mike.
That is explained in the Sonar Reference Guide (near chapter 40), but:
1) select the function you want, for example "Play". In the "MIDI messages for the current..." section you should see "Note" selected.
2) press "Play" button on your keyboard.
3) press "Learn" in the plug-in. "MIDI messages..." should change to the signal your keyboard use for the button. For example Note, Controller or SysX (in case the keyboard is in MMC mode for transport)
4) Continue from (1) for next function.
In case nothing is changing during (3). Check Input for Generic Surface plug-in. Check configuration inside the controller, set transport buttons to some CC.
But as you could see from the other thread, in case you really want the whole power of your controller and have some time for that, check my plug-in. There is at least one problem (MIDI leaking) with "ACT MIDI"+"Generic surface" approach and it is still limited in functionality. Not to say that ACT dynamic mapping (for FXes and VSTis) is going to be a nightmare without my plug-in and ACT Editor from MarCo.
