Problems with recording with music creator 5

I am having problems with recording with music creator 5. I have a boss br-600 digital recorder and have tried putting it through a behringer u-control which has a usb and goes into the back of the computer. I have connected the two and am getting sound on my headphones when I try to record something nothing comes up in the input/output channel. Does anyone have any ideas Im completley new o this...

    Welcome to the forum.
Don't know how I missed this, maybe because it was moved from the Getting Started forum.
We could use some more information like what Operating System, which U-Control device you're using (there are several) and what Driver Mode you're using, for starters.
Go to the Behringer web site, download and install the latest drivers for the device.
Open MC and select the ASIO Driver Mode. You may have to close and re-open MC for the change to take effect.
Once MC is open, go to Options>Audio and select the Behringer as both recording and playback device. Make sure it's drivers are selected under the Drivers tab.
In the audio track, set the input to the Behringer and the output to a bus, the bus output to the Behringer.
Click the Record button, play/sing something and see if you're getting a level on the meter.

before daisy chaining things, it's best to back up and do a simple audio source input and get THAT working first. That way you know that MC5 and the soundcard are set up properly and working.

Then you can add the other things....

But like Greg said...details on the rig would help.

I had one of the Behringer U-Controls and it does work fine. The best working driver mode for these units is WDM. Make sure MC recognizes your U-control. Also, the inputs are line levels, make sure the outputs from your digital recorder is set to line level and connect to the inputs of the behringer. You should be able to hear the signal in the behringer headphone with the monitor switched on.
Now, try importing a wav into MC and play it.  The output should be heard in the behringer headphone. If so, they you should be able to record and playback in MC using the Behringer as your interface.
