Prochannel and Console Emulator problems.

I have seen this issue several other times but it has been hit or miss. However, I just had it happen on the current project I am working on and thought I would bring it up.

When using the console emulators I usually have them on every track and bus.  Occasionally, I will get a channel that stops producing sound. If I look the Pro-channel shows that there is clipping with the LED lit up red. Sometimes the track meter will actually show clipping as well but not always.  Almost always turning off or removing the console emulator will resolve the issue.  This time it was happening in a bus and took a while to hunt down.  I removed the console emulator from the bus and the track feeding it and all is working again.

It is almost like there is some internal feedback that causes it to just produce a high level DC signal or something and blocks all audible audio from coming out.

It does consistently happen but if I am working on a project I can count on it happening at least once.

Anyone else see this problem?

I have seen that occasionally and I'm sure the same thing used to happen with the Saturation module as well. However, I thought those issues had been fixed?

I noticed this problem the other day with one of my tracks. It was producing no sound and the VU meter on the CE was jacked. Turned off the CE and track played normally. Turned it back on same problem. Seemed to happen randomly because the track had been playing fine with the CE.

I thought that as well but in my case it is still there.

i've found that on some tracks/busses, where the CE is in the chain makes a difference to some other plugs. i may get hum or buzz and have to move the position of the CE or shut it off. seems random...

If we don't get an official response here, it might be worthwhile to submit a Problem Report.

Next time it happens, try disabling 64-bit Double Precision engine in Audio Playback and Recording preferences. Just about every case of otherwise unexplained clipping/silent tracks I've ever encountered has been resolved by disabling the DP engine. That was the issue with the Saturation module that James mentioned.

Same problem here as well with a buss. So, I just made a new one moved my plugins, deleted the old buss and moved on... it really isn't worth my time to stop working to post it here. I just assumed it was a random software glitch.
There's a new issues everyday, its just the PC way of things.... lol

    Hay look,

Good suggestion I will try that.
