I prefer VCC & NLS over the PC CE.
Nebula's 3rd party console emus are still my favs overall.

gear sluts forum had one ,  and everyone liked the Waves NLS the best but thought the  the cakewalk one was the VCC ,,, so second most favorite was the Cake imulation after all was known which sample was which .... So the VCC last choice in blind test.

I like the Waves NLS the best it has more open image to it ... I can hear more color  when pushed hard .. And very little CPU stress ....... VCC really taxes the system

I wouldn't go by any of those tests.
The best way is to mix projects from the ground up & listen to what your ears tell you.

none of those tests of different console emulations were mixed ground up with the emulator in place... simply an a/b/c comparison of a completed file with various console emulators added after the fact... to me thats kinda a pointless test.

Is that when the console bursts into flames and burns up the engineer?

No - that's manslaughter! Immolation is just the console burning itself. Of course the OP mis spelled it - but they meant *immolation*
