Pro-channel folder?

Not sure what happened, but I don't see a way to save pro-channel presets (not set as default). There use to be a folder on the side of the name of the track to save or open presets for the pro-channel. Any help?

On the initial load of Sonar, the prochannel load and save icons are not visible. While your mouse is hovering over the name field of the prochannel configuration ("Untitled" in a new project), those icons should appear...

The only reason I can think of if they are not visible is that they have been clobbered with an edit using the theme editor (possible, though unlikely you would have done this).  Even if they had been clobbered, their function would remain - if you click on where the icons should be, they should still open the relevant dialogue box.

Thanks for the reply, but tried clicking in that area and got nothing. I've had the project open for about an hour so everything should be loaded. I never edited anything in the theme editor but just to be sure I changed from Mercury to Tungsten and still -nothing there.

hover over the area where the presets are in pro channel (that little open box)
IMPORTANT: make sure transport is not in motion. transport must be stopped for some reason.
you will see 2 icons, a save and an open.
I just checked, they are there for me anyway.

    hope this helped.

PS what version sonar ? (this should have been stated in first post)

Yeah, I know to look for the icon. They are still not there. I even turned off the transport as you mentioned just to double check that.. Still not there.

If you're looking at the Pro Channel in the Console, try the one in the Inspector again, or vice-versa.

Saved what I'm seeing here in Sonar Platinum and since the forum won't let me upload a pi I put it as my profile photo. I tried to all views (inspector and console) and I'm still unable to see the folder or save icons for the prochannel. I am up to date on my Command Center updates.

have you checked your PC to make sure the preset folder is there ?
its uncommon but that's the only thing I can think of right now.

what folder are they in ?

and what kind of mouse are you using ? is it a Logitech ?
some of the Logitech mouses can cause problems with sonar and this being a hover over preset, it is a possibility.
I would check for presets first, make sure they are there (though even if not, im sure the folder would open unless the whole folder is gone)

did you install Sonar on default C:\ Drive ?

not necessarily looking there, look in C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR Platinum\ProChannel Presets
there should be a folder in this directory with all your PC presets.

if it IS there, just for giggles, exit the project, plug in another mouse, restart sonar, test it with a new mouse.

if you have not done so already, do a system re boot. = turn your pc off, wait 10 seconds, restart your pc.
sometimes corrupt data is held in RAM, this clears the ram and lets you start off fresh.

I know it seems tedious trying to figure out what is going on here,
but if you want your presets back, just hang in there and we'll get it working, just read my last post again.

    1-reboot
    2-look for PC presets folder
    3- try a different mouse

    FIXED!!
    Thanks!
Turns out it was the mouse. I didn't have another mouse to switch out on it. The Logitech I was using was using a generic driver so I switched it to another Logitech driver just for kicks -restarted my computer and it all came back (in all views).

well Mr. Lopez, this was driving me bananas. so glad we got this working for you.
This was a first for me, I've never heard of this happening but I'll be honest, I've seen stranger things
I was almost ready to give up at one point .

This is one experience to put in my toolbox. I'm not sure I will see this happen too often but if it does,
you saved someone else the trouble of trying to figure out what the solution is.

Hope your back to making great music

    Good Luck,

Yeah, I've had driver issues before but never something like this..very strange.
Couldn't have done it without you pointing out driver issues of Logitech mice.
I haven't had a problem like this in a very long time. It was very humbling :).
Thanks again for all the help.

So... bought a new mouse (not a logitech). Now have that folder disappearing again; just like the last mouse. The only fix is change the driver back and forth between it's standard driver and a generic until it -again- disappears in the middle of the project.

    Any thoughts?
