Prochannel won't display properly
Sorry for the double post, but figure I should have done it this way. See 2 graphics below. Why is Prochannel all screwed up in second panel? Have tried all sorts of fixes. These are 2 different songs.

I see a picture of the Track View in the Inspector window even though the Prochannel tab is highlighted and in the 2nd picture, ProChannel correctly displayed in the Inspector. It could be that the screensets are different for the two songs and the software is displaying precisely as told. Check your screensets. ProChannel is one of three views in the Inspector Window. Clips, Tracks, ProChannel are all accessible in the Inspector.

Looks to me like the Inspector in the first panel is showing MIDI information, which it does when a MIDI track is selected even if the Pro Channel tab is selected, because it would make no sense to show the Pro Channel on a MIDI channel. If you change to an Audio channel (which presumably is selected in the second panel) it shows the Pro Channel again, which looks normal enough to me. I'm not seeing the problem here...

ProChannel isn't displaying in your top picture because the selected track is a MIDI track. MIDI tracks don't have ProChannels, just audio, synth, and instrument tracks.

Don't be so hard on yourself. At the time you posted you simply didn't know the answer. Yes its seems a bit dumb but with all the posts I have made I have also posted some dumb posts too. We all have. We are human you know.

No worries. The forum is here to provide answers. Obvious stuff isn't obvious until you know it.

Timeking uh duh. ok. I'm going back and smack my head against the wall for being so dumb. Truth be told, the same thing threw me for a loop for a few minutes until I tried to reproduce it and figured it out.

Middleman It's easy to know the correct answer when work for the company. True enough. Am I being a smartypants to point out that I said the same thing one post earlier, even though I don't? Probably... (grain of salt: I of course also have frequent headslapping why-didn't-I-see-that moments...)

My duh moment is spending 10 minutes adjusting the EQ in ProChannel with small subtle changes to Q and frequency. Finally I was satisfied with the result and only then realized I had been adjusting the EQ for the wrong track. I had convinced myself that changes were taking place on the acoustic guitar when I was adjusting the EQ for a different muted track. Eh, pretty dumb.

Ha, that's happened to me too! :) Audio mirages--a sure sign that a single mixing session went on a little too long. Or I'm trying to make adjustments so fine I have to imagine their effect rather than just hearing them.

Oh I've done that one too. Probably more than once. It's actually an interesting learning experience, illustrating just how much of our experience is subjective - based on a kind of interpretive layer where our brains are fitting sensory data into a dynamic mental model of what's going on. We do this all the time, it is in fact the only way we ever experience anything at all, and it's so unconscious that we either forget or don't know it's happening (we tend to think or at least behave as if we're experiencing 'reality' directly) - until something like this reminds us: sometimes what you think is happening isn't what's happening at all...

Fort Pierce is a small east coast beach town in Florida that is very near to my hometown. The coast used to have a string of distinct small towns and villages from Palm Beach to Jacksonville. Now it's more like a coastal strip of suburbantropolis. Fort Pierce still has an old Florida feel to it because it has a working port where a lot of agriculture products are exchanged. Anyways, :-)
