Producer 8.5.3 Randomly Freezes After I Record an Audio Track

Using:
  • AxeFX II as an interface (48K/16bit)
  • Producer 8.5.3 x64
  • Win7 Ultimate x64
  • AMD Phenom 8650 Triple-Core 2.3Ghz
  • 8GB RAM

Lately, whenever I track an audio track:  I noticed that often times Sonar will temporarily freeze while waiting for the track's WAV display to appear after I stop recording.  There will be about a 10+ second delay & if I try to click anything else in Sonar the software becomes unresponsive, so I simply have to wait for it to respond.  Same can happen when I try to "undo" a track that I had just recorded.  My computer is plenty strong enough, and I have as few as possible background processes running.

It has really hindered the speed of my tracking process.  Any advice?

What is showing in the processor activity meter?
Do you have 64 bit engine and use multi core ticked in options?

I'll take a screen shot of my CPU meter next time during tracking.  But I'm sure it's very low with low RAM usage as well.

Yes, I have the 64 bit engine ticked.

I've never seen the Multi-core option!  Where's it at??

EDIT: Nevermind, it's under the advanced tab.  Yes, "Multiprocessing Engine" is ticked/enabled

Hard drive? audio is buffered then written to the hard drive. If something is slowing that processes down you might see this behavior. Which drive are you streaming audio files to? Is is getting full, background processing?
